The Duradek Installation Process – A Commitment to Excellence:

1. Deck Preparation: We start by removing existing plywood or 2×4 deck boards to inspect the framing for any signs of rot, repairing or replacing as necessary.
2. Foundation Laying: We install 3/4″ Tongue and Groove ACX plywood, chosen for its smooth, knot-free surface that prevents oil bleed-through and discoloration.
3. Surface Preparation: Our team meticulously prepares the plywood surface by filling and sanding seams and screw holes to ensure a flawless finish.
4. Duradek Application: The membrane, available in 6-foot rolls, is expertly glued down to the plywood. Each row overlaps by 3/4″, with overlapped seams heat welded to create a seamless, waterproof barrier.
5. Detailing: We remove siding courses as needed to extend the membrane up the wall by 6″ and over the outside perimeter edge by 2″, securing it with a color-matched termination bar and screws for a polished look.
