Why Roof Ventilation and Insulation Matter in the Pacific Northwest
The Pacific Northwest is known for its wet and cold winters, which can lead to moisture accumulation in attics and crawl spaces. Roof ventilation and insulation are essential for maintaining a balanced temperature and preventing issues such as ice dams, mold, and wood rot. Proper ventilation allows air to flow freely, while insulation helps keep the heat inside, improving your home’s energy efficiency.

FAQ´s
Roof ventilation allows air to flow through your attic to prevent moisture buildup and heat accumulation, while roof insulation helps maintain the temperature inside your home, keeping it warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
In the Pacific Northwest, where moisture is prevalent, proper roof ventilation helps prevent mold, wood rot, and ice dams by allowing air to flow freely and reduce moisture buildup in the attic.
By adding roof insulation, you prevent heat loss in winter and minimize heat gain in summer. This helps reduce your heating and cooling costs, making your home more energy-efficient.
It’s recommended to inspect your roof ventilation and insulation every 3-5 years or after major weather events to ensure it’s performing optimally and maintaining energy efficiency.
Yes! Proper roof ventilation and insulation can prevent the formation of ice dams by maintaining a consistent roof temperature. This prevents melting snow from refreezing at the edge of your roof.
